The 700 horsepower supercharged V8 Callaway produces energy in their class. A topless cockpit with twin wind deflectors and extended headrests, exquisite bodywork and setting the race-inspired chassis, the C16 is the command Speedster represents a pinnacle in American supercar design. Like its spiritual predecessor, the 1990 Callaway Twin Turbo Speedster and 1998 C12 Speedster, the latest C16 Speedster offers a visceral open air driving experience unique.
Every body panel has been designed to talk about style and function, and a leather interior hand-decorated German adds exclusivity. Door sills, steering wheel and dashboard to perform signature Callaway logo. Each C16 Speedster is tailored to the owner’s taste for color indoor and outdoor displays a number plate construct. Corresponding fitted luggage by Schedoni is made from the skins as the interior, and are marked with the VIN Speedster.
Underbody of the car is beautiful in the heart of a racecar. The Callaway supercharged, 6.2L all-alloy hand-built motor produces 700hp and 660 pounds-feet of torque, propelling the Speedster from 0 to 60 in an estimated 3.2 seconds. the speed of the C16 Speedster is over 210 mph.
A unique element from Speedster with its C16 siblings – Coupe and Cabrio – are Callaway / Dymag carbon wheels that weigh about 40 percent less than the lightest aluminum wheels, significantly reducing unsprung weight. These TUV and DOT-tested wheels feature forged magnesium spiders surrounded by carbon fiber rims and measure 19 “x 10″ front and 20 “x 13″ rear. Debuting behind the wheels is the new Callaway / carbon ceramic brake system StopTech, using 6-piston front and 4 piston rear calipers gripping 355 mm x 32 mm carbon disks. The total weight gain of the combination of carbon wheels / magnesium and carbon ceramic brakes is 20 pounds per corner, 80 pounds in total. This extraordinary weight reduction benefits of dynamic compliance and reduces wheel rotational inertia and the reduction of vehicle mass.
The Speedster replaces traditional rearview mirrors with a camera 3, the closed loop system that displays images on the Panasonic Strada navigation unit. source
