Presented by Nissan in the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show is the Ellure concept study of a four-seat midsize sedan with a carved out, rear-hinged rear doors and a futuristic interior and essential.Defined by Nissan Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura as “Sedan Re-Imagined,” says the concept Ellure the company’s intention to bring about new life into the traditional mid-size sedan segment, while maintaining the basic layout and proportions.
Targeted mainly female clients in their thirties and forties, has the Ellure a modern curved exterior surfaces of plastic, a coupe-like roof line, swept back headlamps and 21-inch wheels. The rear-hinged rear doors allow (so-called “suicide doors”), together with the absence of the B-pillar for easy access to the cabin.
The interior has to feel the typical “show car”, with flowing lines, elegant chrome details and recessed lighting units. The cabin design is based on the “shock wave” theme and the futuristic effect is enhanced by the color scheme, with white and basic shades of gray which, in contrast to the red carpet of the floor and the bright stripes.
The concept is a compact hybrid powertrain that includes a supercharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit with dual-clutch gearbox control, and a 25 kW electric motor driven matched with a CVT gearbox.
